We headed down to Cornwall for our family holiday and it would have been a sin (as a sketcher) not to pack my sketchbook and attempt to paint a little bit of Cornwall.
Cornwall is beautiful, and I can see why it’s a popular destination for Artists. The beaches, boats, the lighthouse, the rocky shore and moss covered cliffs are a perfect combination to capture with a paintbrush.
Of course, every time I opened my sketchbook, I held several yells, “Mummy, I need a wee…Mummy, can I do it…..Mummy, I’m hungry, mummy…mummy…mummmmmy.” But, despite the screams, there were moments (even for a few minutes) where sketching did happen. And gosh, it was just wonderful to slow down and be present with the beauty of Cornwall – even if it meant just having time to sketch the houses and rooftops.
And, what better way to relax on the beach with the kids painting too. Yes – they did yell, “Can I paint too?”! 🤦🏽♀️
Cool sketches
I too am sketching with family in Cornwall. Hard to sketch though when the dog is tugging on the lead.
