Goodbye Home!

This month has been crazy busy as we are moving home! And at the moment we are surrounded by boxes upon boxes of stuff!

A few of these boxes are all my art supplies. I didn’t realise the amount of art materials I have gathered over the years – brushes, ink, sketchbooks (most empty!), pencils, fine-liners, watercolour paints, watercolour pencils and I can go on and on!!! Although, it’s definitely not kind to my bank balance, I think part of the enjoyment of sketching is also gathering the latest pen, paint or the best sketchbook. And if all else fails, at least I will have a huge stock to open up my own art shop!

I enjoyed sketching my house, it’s the first time in 8 years that I sat outside and really studied it – the brick work, colours, shape of the roof and how the windows are different sizes on each floor – who knew! It was also interesting hearing all the sounds around me which I’ve never slowed down enough to notice.

The sketch captures so much not only my home but the love for our home where so many dreams came true!
